In my current duties with the Salvage team I verify Total Loss paperwork is issued and accurate, monitor the retrieval of pertinent forms and information necessary for the salvage yards to process titles, and see to it that the salvage recovery payments are received and applied, or that the deficit owed to the salvage yard is paid promptly and accurately. In my previous role on the Financial team I handled the printing and distribution of locally printed checks for the Irving, TX office, logged returned and undeliverable loss and expense checks (either re-mailing them to corrected addresses, or re-applying the funds to the claim and destroying them), processing financial tasks such as payment transfers and status requests, and monitoring the Shop Status inbox for TLC and GRN body shops to advise on payments issued, supplements received, and liability decisions. Additionally, I acted as a back-up in resolving V3 checks that become paid without issuance, and completing Stop-Pays on checks (both manual, and system printed). I have cross-trained as a Coverage Clerk, and have assisted in that department when the work volume is heavy, or additional staff is needed.

In this position I took first notice of loss from policy-holders and claimants, created Auto claims in Claims Workbench, and monitored the claim until completion of repairs. Additionally I investigated liability in accidents, and negotiated comparative negligence with claimants. It was my duty to create and payments based on original and supplemental estimates.

As an Insurance Assistant I answered calls from insured parties, claimants, and providers, answered the questions I could, and directed said calls to the assigned adjusters. I printed and mailed local checks, handled spreadsheets for Accounting and Special Investigations, and printed and mailed SR-21 paperwork for claims representatives. I also handled shipping of packages for Total Loss as well as shipping document boxes for the Salvage Department.

My duties in this position were to oversee the parking of guests’ cars, as well as providing any services necessary to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. I supervised between five and twenty-five valets on any given night, handled the register till, and the day-to-day auditing of money and short-term tickets.

I have a strong foundation in Leadership and Management, as well as an acute ability to learn. Working in a variety of fields and positions has left me open-minded about the correct way to do things, and what is the best tact to take, and when. I have worked with the public most of my life, and have very strong and empathetic customer service skills. I am unafraid to ask questions and will do whatever is necessary to complete whatever objective I may be given in a professional and expedient manner. I take great pride in showing initiative, finding what needs to be done, and completing it. I served as a Change Champion for the entire Irving Personal Market Claims office during the pilot program in 2013, and again as a Support Change Champion in that program’s pilot in 2015. I have been active with Continuous Improvement, most recently facilitating a change in the layout of the Peer 2 Peer Tool which allowed for items not related to phone calls being accurately addressed. I have received numerous peer recognitions from employees both in and out of Support, and act as a liaison between Support and Personal Market Claims for issues inside and outside of my day-to-day duties. I am very serious about maintaining a constant and contagious positive attitude, and seeking to spark discussion on topics in huddles and meetings so as to maintain a high level of team engagement. Most recently I was one of three front-line Salvage employees chosen to attend a Value Stream Mapping event where we worked alongside supervisors, CI Coaches, CTMs and Unit Managers in learning how Value Stream Mapping can be used to identify waste in our everyday processes. In addition, I have held integral roles in several special projects for the company, including an audit of all Virginia Uninsured Motorists claims for a three year span, and a “Test and Learn” of Salvage standard work in the CVO work system.
